Dear Friends, welcome to Hamidia College, a premier institution of Higher Education located in the City of Bhopal. Established in the year 1946, Hamidia College has a long tradition of history and a glorious past. It is  the oldest College in Bhopal and well recognised for its great heritage, majestic building and beautiful serene lake surroundings on both sides. The college is known for its natural beauty and greenery with rare birds and trees seen within the campus. It was given the status of Lead College in the year 1998, and at present there are 14 Govt., 7 aided and 99 Pvt. Colleges under its jurisdiction. Our Institution has been declared as Prime Minister College of Excellence in Bhopal district on 15^th march 2024 and besides the existing Arts, Commerce & Science has been added. Some Self Finance & Job oriented diploma and certificate courses are being run at minimal fee.

        The college is recognised for its balanced blend of cultural traditions and modernity where quality education is imparted via collaborative efforts of dedicated and diligent faculty and staff members. The College has also been actively involved in curricular, co curricular and extracurricular activities with students winning awards and laurels in various academic, cultural and sporting events. The college has been successfully providing platforms and opportunities to students by preparing and grooming them holistically to excel in fields of their interest .They are being engaged to take on leadership roles in future by interaction and exposure to varied activities that also go beyond campus domains.

     There is a constant attempt to inculcate higher order thinking and critical analysing skills amongst our students via fostering an open and liberal environment of questioning. Besides academics, its core values have also inspired the college to engage in various extension, consultancy and social services through NSS, NCC, Hindi Granth Academy Cell, Indian Knowledge System Cell, AI & IT Training Cell, Aviation Sector Courses, and department activities, thus fostering a generation of socially sensitive students, understanding their responsibilities towards society and the nation.

   The college has a unique Hamidian spirit that involves celebrating individual differences amongst students and considering these differences to be their strength .With students as the focal point, mentoring remains the crux of the entire teaching learning experience, as such the institution has consistently endeavoured to facilitate democratic and symbiotic equations between faculty, staff and students.

      Recent years have also witnessed major infrastructural additions being made to the college keeping in mind contemporary requirements for imparting education, be it addition of smart classrooms and other ICT improvements. Faculty members have also been actively involved in research and scholarly activities thus enhancing the body of work in their respective subjects.

      It is also worth mentioning that the institution takes great pride in its long and prestigious list of prominent alma mater including former President of India Dr.Shankar Dayal Sharma, Ex- Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, former Chairperson of Rajya Sabha Smt. Najma Heptullah just to name a few besides various prominent judges and work force of Secretariat and other Departments.
